Deron Kane Johnson, beloved husband, father, PeePaw, and son passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. His final moments were spent with his Wonderful Wife and surrounded by loved ones via FaceTime.
Born March 1, 1965 in Covington Kentucky, Deron lived a wonderful life of 55 years and 361 days with no regrets. He was a man of true character. He did everything his way, with a smile, laugh, and a possible apology. Deron’s greatest pride was his family: his wife of 35 years, his 2 daughters, son-in-law, and his most amazing granddaughter. He was the greatest friend, brother, uncle, great uncle, and bonus dad to so many.
He courageously battled Stage 4 Glioblastoma Multiforme for 28 months and 3 days and never complained. He was a true hero and warrior. Deron’s last act was truly selfless, the way he always lived. He donated his eyes to another MD Anderson Cancer Patient. Now, someone gets to see life through his eyes: full of vibrance, joy, and always seeing the best in every person and situation.
Deron is survived by his True Love and Best Friend, Dianne Johnson, his oldest daughter Meagan Hart, her husband Michael Hart and PeePaw’s Favorite Nugget, Sawyer Grace Hart. He is also survived by his youngest daughter, Melodie Johnson, his mother, Thirla Johnson, and family dog Kalli Sophia, his sister Rae Jean Johnson, her husband Ken Johnson and their kids, Kevin Johnson (Amber Johnson), Stephen Johnson (Amanda Johnson and daughter Caroline), and Derek Johnson. Deron is proceeded in death by his father, Raymond Johnson and Snickers Johnson.
We will celebrate Deron’s life, daily, and will celebrate with our family and friends at a later date, the way he wanted to be celebrated: with a party where everyone talks about him!
