  Joyce was always the bright light in the room. She had such a positive and uplifting mood and attitude toward everything and anything that happened. That includes the first time I met her when I was adopted by The Bannisters. She just helped me feel more welcome to be a part of my forever family. She helped me learn what it means to be yourself even if you are different by looks or just about anyway someone can be different from others. She taught me that being different is good...it is great that you are different. One of my favorite things that Joyce would do with my sisters and I was when we got after school snack s on the days that she would pick us up when my mom couldn't get us. She would get us the best after school snack even if they were not entirely healthy. Joyce had always shown that you can have fun in just about anything that you do. I learned so much about life from her and just have fun and live the moment that you are in right now. Thank you Joyce for everything that you have for everyone that had you in their lives.

As we mourn the loss of Joyce, we also need to remember to celebrate her life. She gave so much of herself in the the most selfless loving way. Her love of living and care for others can never be replaced. She had a way of making people feel loved, listened to and special. Joyce was able to be the person you needed; she always had that quick smile or she offered kind words that let you know she understood. If you were a part of Joyce’s life, then you are also a part of ours. She shared everything. The stories, accomplishments, photos , videos of this great big family of hers in which she was so proud. We love Joyce and she loved us back and she will be truly missed.  

Joyce was a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I always knew that she was there for me. She came to just about every single musical I’ve ever been in and would always bring me flowers after. Whenever she would pick me up after school her bright attitude and positive spirit would bring an instant light to my day. She was always there to listen about how my day went and how school was going. She was an amazing listener and always made me feel heard.

Aunt Joyce is truly one of a kind. No matter the event she was there. She always seemed to show up when it counted. If it was a big life moment she was there. If it was one of her nieces or nephews events she seemed to be there. If it was one of her great nieces or great nephews events she was there. If it was one of “the girls” events she was there. It didn’t matter how big or small it was she was always there for it with a smile on. Family events won’t be the same without you, but I’ll make sure to have an extra drink, put on my dancing shoes and come up with one hell of a catch phrase. Love you AJ.

Aunt Joyce, you were and always will be such a light to all of your friends and family. All I can do is smile when I think back on all the memories we have shared. the best thing about Joyce is she always showed up, if it was a birthday, soccer game, Sunday afternoon, a park play date, or the big family gatherings it didn’t matter the time or place she was always there with the biggest smile bringing the life of the party to whatever we were doing. She was simply the best, the best sister, aunt, great aunt and friend. I love you Bah.

What can I say that will be different from all of her friends and family?  Everyone knows she was the best - kind, fun, positive, lighthearted, beautiful in every sense.  The special gift she had was, she could make any bad feeling or negative attitude disappear.  Like a magician. One smile, one wink, one hug, one hilarious 'Joyce' comment, and it was all good. Better than good. 

Being with Aunt Joyce gave me the sense that no matter what day of what year, no matter the circumstance, keep smiling. Life is a party and all your loved ones are invited. What a special gift life is.  And if you can see it how Joyce does, it can be one heck of a great time. 

Aunt Joyce and Aunt Rose used to call me "Romeo" and it always made me smile. Being with my family made me the happiest, and shaped the positive, grounded person I try to be.  This only serves to remind me to keep being that way no matter what life throws at you. Keep smiling and enjoy the moment, every moment. 

Aunt Joyce... now is your moment. Keep smiling. I love you. 

Joyce always brought the fun. Loved her love of Bruce and so happy to have been part of a great concert seeing Paul McCartney. The love of her family, especially the little ones, shone brightly.  Keeping the family in our hearts in this difficult time.

From Uncle Al,  I am Joyce’s proud Uncle.  I stayed in her home many times & found Joyce to be a Wonderful person with a very keen sense of humor. I will always remember her in my mind & she will be miss by family & many friends.  A great loss to all humanity.  

From Aunt Myrna, I will miss your smile & joy for living which you instilled in every one of us & recipes you shared with me. There’s a hole in my heart.

What can be said about my cousin Joyce. She was one of a kind. She was funny and fun, caring and supportive, and one of the best to ever grace this planet with her presence. To know her makes you one of the lucky ones. she was always there for me to take me some place, babysit, watch Dukes of Hazzard. Many know of her love for dogs, but few may know that she actually had a "Luke" which may have also been my Aunt's. I think there was a Bo too, but that may be my imagination fading. Joyce was also there to "bail" me out when I needed, give me a place to stay when I showed up on spring break unannounced. She took me for an emergency haircut to cut the long  hair I used to have also. I'm sad that we do not get to continue the party, but the party will continue in her memory. I love you and miss you!

Everyone who knew Joyce knew how special she was.  She had kindness and patience with everyone.  She instinctively knew how to make our day easier.  Joyce was the best listener.  To fill Joyce in about your day, or troubles, or what TV series you were watching was like resetting your stress, she always made things bettor.
15 years ago I asked Joyce to help me get my little ones around.  I was a busy working Mom.   Paul and I knew we could not do it alone.  We never imagined at the start what our relationship would become as a member of our family and as my friend.  Joyce became an extension of myself, my right hand.  What I could not do Joyce would handle.  Almost daily Joyce and I would divide and conquer “the schedule.”  I don’t think my girls can ever appreciate how fortunate they were to have been loved and supported by Joyce.  No event was ever missed.  For them if a parent wasn’t there, but Joycee was, that was all that mattered.   She was always the cool Aunt, picking up bubble tea after school or flowers in hand after every performance.  She loved watching “The Bannister Girls” grow to become the beautiful young strong women they are today with her influence and love.  
What I will miss the most was my friendship with Joyce.  Her easy going nature and support was an anchor for me.  I hope I was half as good a listener for her as she was for me.  She was fun to to with, drink with, hang out with.  She loved going to a movie or any musical/theater performance.  Ali Babas and Banana Leaf will always remind me of Joyce.   Just a few weeks ago we laughed at how even though she was in Texas most of her life she never lost her New York accent to pronounce “drawer.”  Bruce her dog and the singer, Dallas Stars, the Mavs, the Ticket, these were a few of her favorite things.  Anyone reading this who knew Joyce, knew what a kind selfless person she was.   I will always and forever be grateful to have had her in my life.  I love you and I miss you Joycee. 

To my cousin Joyce, who was a wonderful person is an understatement. Through the years all the times we were together were memorable. Everyone who came in contact with her knew how special she was. Although we didn't see see each other or talk often enough, every time we did, she made it feel as if we saw each other yesterday. She was truly a gentle soul who will sorely be missed by me and everyone who was fortunate enough to have known her. She will always be in my heart.

My dearest cousin, Joyce, was a compassionate person who was loved by so many. She had a wonderful sense of humor, shared by all of our family members, which lent itself to many hilarious moments and fun when we were all together! Joyce and I shared enjoyment of hockey and we had bets when our teams played together. Joyce, you still owe me a dinner! We also loved Broadway shows, Bravo shows and movies and had many lively conversations about them! Joyce, you will be in my heart forever!!! 

Joyce came into my life when I met her cousin Laurie. At first, I thought they were sisters as they were so close.
She was someone you loved immediately. Her wit, consideration for others, and passion for and love of music created an immediate friendship.
While Joyce had the heart of a poet she also loved people and was able to forgive and help others where they might not have done the same for her.
I remember in an early get-together, I made the mistake of using bleach while washing some clothing and never had to do laundry again – thank you, Joyce!

My dear niece Joyce was the most wonderful sweet person.  Appropriately named Joy-ce because she was always a joy to be with.
Such a happy and bubbly disposition. 
I remember a time as little girl when she travel on a winter vacation with myself and Uncle Harry to Puerto Rico.  She was to sleep on a roll- away in the other room from us at night.  When she cried that she was afraid to sleep alone, we invited her into our bed to comfort her..
Now, she  has  been a comfort to me in my old age with her calls to check on me and just say hello and brighten my day.

Dear Joyce....my favorite memories of us is when you spent some summer time  with all of us in Otisville and at Horton’s Beach. I think of those times often and call them “the good ol’ days “.   May you Rest In Peace and know that you will be thought of and missed by all that loved you. Love always, your cousin, Nancy 

Joyce was a happy and fun-loving person. I have such fond memories of growing up with her.  One thing we had in common was our love for Bruce Springsteen. Although, I think Joyce loved him even more. She even named her dog Bruce. I know now that every time I hear a Bruce song I will think of Joyce. I'll miss you.

Joyce, the memories are endless as they often are with cousins...Christmas memories come to mind the most. Our families together sharing this holiday meant the world to me. I miss those times, and I'll miss our Words with Friends games and messaging you whenever Bruce was on the radio. Till we meet again...I love you!

Joyce I am so glad we took our trip to Waco and Theresa and I got to spend the time with you.  Our cousin weekends in Florida were filled with much laughter. I am going to miss our Saturday morning telephone calls talking about Water Aerobics and Zumba. I promise I will learn how to make Christmas Cookies as I as looked forward to yours arriving in the mail.

My sister Joyce was one of the sweetest kindest people in the world. She always made me smile and was one of the reasons I met and fell in love with Michelle. Since we both lived in Dallas the last 6 years Joyce, Michelle, and I were able to spend so much time together and attend so many concerts, movies, and sporting events together. She would always tell me I created her fine taste in music and I just found out the other day from a family meeting she made sure she did the same to her niece, and all of her nephews. Michelle and I will do our best to lead by your example with our family as we all try and move forward together. I will miss you everyday and will never stop thinking about you. My heart is broken over this and I will always love you. Mark

Joyce was one of a kind and there will never be another person quite like her. Every memory I have of our Dallas days warms my heart and makes me smile. My kids loved being with her and it’s no surprise, as she was fun-loving, kind, and had a great sense of humor. Anyone who knew Joyce loved her. She will be greatly missed and always lovingly remembered. Her memory is a blessing to all of us.

My Aunt Joyce was one of the most loving, thoughtful people in my life.  Although we weren't related by blood, she was 100% my aunt growing up. Joyce was so much fun and was always so thoughtful to everyone in her life. She not only threw me my beautiful bridal shower when I got married, she went above and beyond to show her love and support when I delivered my daughter prematurely 3 years ago. 
We both shared a love of New York City and a love of my mom, Sandra. I just cannot believe she is gone and will miss her so much.

I will always remember your smile and the joy you brought to all the lives you touched.  I’m a better person having you be part of my life. You are missed. 

Joyce was one of the most warm hearted individuals I have ever encountered. Known her for over 25 years. Between Bruce Springsteen and The Dallas Stars always had something to talk about. Will miss her very much.

Joyce was one of the kindest people I have ever known. Even though she was quiet and calm, she loved her family fiercely, especially the little ones who called her Bah. My life has been enriched by her presence and I will greatly miss her. 

Joyce may not have been my immediate family but I couldn’t have wished for anyone better to watch me grow up. I know she’ll be watching over me every day and like many others I love her and miss her dearly. 

Joyce had such a positive and uplifting impact on so many people - as a friend, aunt, great-aunt, sister - and she excelled at each of those roles. She showed up for everyone in large and small ways - from the cards, stickers, and magazines that regularly appeared in the mailbox and delighted our kids, to the libations (sometimes in jello form) she brought to gatherings, to the love she showed day in and day out for the family in Dallas, for whom she was a cornerstone and constant source of support and fun. Her love endures, even as she'll be missed so, so much.

My heart aches for this family.  She was the rock and glue  for this family and for all of her friends and those who knew her.  You were always there for whomever needed you. 
I know you were loved by so many.
