(1936 - 2024)
Khanh Tuong Le, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and pillar of his community, peacefully departed at the age of 88 on May 4th, 2024.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Thi Le, and his treasured children: Tuong-Khanh Vu and her husband Thuan Vu, Victoria Tuong-Vi Le and her husband Henry Signo, Khang Tuong Le and his wife Thoa Le, and Tuong-Van Le Masker. Khanh was a source of pride and joy for his seven grandchildren: Khoan Vu, Khiem Vu, Tuong-Anh Vu, Melody Thuy Mi Le, Annette Thuy An Le, Miles Khoi Masker, and Tuong-Khe Masker.
Born on February 25, 1936, in Saigon, Vietnam, Khanh was the second eldest of five siblings. He excelled academically, earning BS and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering with Magna Cum Laude distinction from the Ecole Polytechnique, University of Montreal, where he also found lifelong love with Thi Le, whom he married in 1961 upon their return to Vietnam.
His professional journey led him through esteemed positions in Vietnam, including Manager of the Saigon Water Project and Deputy Director General of the Central Logistic and Supply Agency at the Prime Minister's Office, and Vice President for the National Water Supply Office.
The fall of Saigon in 1975 compelled Khanh and his family to seek refuge in the US and settle in Denver, Colorado. There he served as District Manager for Willows Water District for 32 years. His leadership garnered him recognition as one of Colorado's Top Ten Public Works Leaders by the American Public Works Society in 1990, and his District received the Engineering Excellence Award presented by Colorado governor in 1994.
Khanh's dedication extended to humanitarian causes, contributing his expertise to organizations like Water for People to provide clean water to impoverished villages and schools in Vietnam. He found solace in Buddhist spiritual practice, generously contributing to temples, and attending meditation retreats. His warmth, wisdom, and boundless generosity touched many lives.
A beacon of compassion and wisdom, Khanh Le's legacy of love and integrity will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all who were touched by his warmth and generosity.
