Stephanie Ann Heady passed away on the evening of February 25th. Stephanie was born in Brooklyn, New York on October 4th, 1945 as the oldest daughter of John and Doris Loy. She graduated from Sheepshead Bay High School in 1963. The family moved to New Jersey in 1966 where she later met her husband, Ben Heady, and started their 48 year marriage together. In the early years, she supported her husband while he was attending school and then she raised her two children Troy and Sharon. Stephanie was passionate about volunteer work and was active in the Junior Women’s Club, the local Parent Teacher Organization and was a Boy Scout Den mother. Stephanie, Ben, and their children moved to Coppell, Texas in 1987 to take advantage of a relocation opportunity through Ben’s job. As soon as she settled the family in, Stephanie continued her volunteer work with the Coppell Library and the Coppell elementary, middle, and high school Parent Teacher Organizations. In addition, she and her daughter helped to build the first Coppell Kid Country Playground in Andy Brown Park. In 1995 Stephanie started a new career as a Senior Sales and Shared Operations Assistant with Silver Burdett Ginn (Pearson Education) and, after 20 years of helping children in Kindergarten through 5th grade receive textbooks and learning materials, she had planned to retire in April of 2016.
Stephanie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Doris Loy of New York. She is survived by her husband, Ben Heady; her son, Troy Heady, her daughter and son-in-law Sharon & Kelly Reynolds, favorite grandson Ethan Reynolds all of Texas; and sister and brother-in-law, Christina and Marc Kushner of New Jersey.
