

Stephen 'Steve' Mitchell Scheller, 61, of Coppell, TX, passed away Saturday, September 3rd , 2016. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 10th, at Gracepoint Church, 590 S Denton Tap Rd, Coppell, TX 75019. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Stephen was born April 8th , 1955 in Somerville, NJ to Philipp O. Scheller and the former June Rosemary Langer. He graduated from West Morris High School in 1973, and summa cum laude from Boston College in 1977. On July 23rd 1983 he married the former Virginia Howard Collins in Dallas, TX. On August 1st, 1986, he became a father to Whitney Diane, and 3 years later to Ashley Elizabeth. After graduating from college, he began his career in the hospitality industry at the Magic Pan in up-state New York. Starting as a bus boy, a manager and "finally reaching his goal of being in the corporate office in San Francisco. Stephen moved to Dallas in the early 80's and worked for several companies including Bear Creek Golf Course, AmFac Hotel and opening the Las Colinas Sports Club in Irving as controller. He decided to seek his CPA designation and then opened his business in 1997. Stephen became a Christian in 1985 and was a member at Gracepoint Church in Coppell. A quiet, sensitive man, his family knew him as a hard working, humble, and generous man. He supported many charitable causes in Coppell, Young Life was one close to his heart. Stephen worked fervently to establish his practice over the last 20 years. He loved working and loved his clients, many who have been with him for almost 20 years. Stephen had a great sense of humor and was always pranking his clients with one of his many accents. He was also known to call a client and mimic a politician or CEO. One of his passions and hobbies was "fishing. He was an avid "fisherman. Stephen is survived by his wife, Virginia, two daughters, Whitney and Ashley Scheller, mother June Scheller, his two sisters Christine and Janet Scheller, his step-son, Greg and wife Toi Collins; three grand-children, Jackson, Micah, and Tessa Collins.
