Thomas Modayil Mathew

With profound sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of Mr. Thomas Modayil Mathew, a beloved father, grandfather, and brother, who was called to eternal rest by our Lord Jesus Christ on December 30th, 2025.

Born on September 12th, 1930, in Mallapally, Kerala, India, to the late Mr. Mathew Modayil Mathew and Mrs. Kunjamma Modayil Mathew, Thomas grew up in a large and loving family with 6 brothers and 3 sisters.

He pursued higher education, earning a bachelor’s degree in economics from Mangalore. He served as a Finance Officer with Indian Airlines, initially in Bombay and later transferring to Madras in 1966, where he oversaw accounting operations for the southern India region. He retired in 1988 after a distinguished career.

Thomas was predeceased by his loving wife, Mrs. Thankamma Thomas with whom he shared 50 cherished years of marriage. In 2016, he relocated to the United States to live with his son and family in Dallas, Texas, where he spent his final years surrounded by loved ones.

He is survived by his only son, Thomas Mathew, and daughter-in-law, Suji Mathew; grandchildren Chris Mathew and Ashton Mathew; three brothers and one sister; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

As a family, we thank God for the gift of his long and blessed life—a life filled with faith, hard work, and devotion to his loved ones.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to each of you for joining us today in this funeral service to celebrate and honor his memory. Your presence, prayers, and support bring us great comfort during this time of grief.
