Dear Mr. and Mrs. Karnik,

Though a stranger to your family, I feel for your pain and still am praying for your comfort, especially today. 

I still remember seeing you two holding a portrait of your beautiful daughter through Baylor's graduation commencement. That was my first time knowing of Trisha and your terrible loss. 

I believe in Jesus Christ, my Savior and my Lord. He has taken away all of my pain and struggles. He has made me whole. He has given me a joy that this world can't give, can't understand, and can't take away. 

I know He loves you and He is the only One who can comfort one who has suffered such a loss. I know He has given His life to us all. 

I pray He will make His presence strong today and let you find hope in Him.

Dear Rahul,
It’s very saddening for me and my family to hear about sad demise of your daughter. 
Life is very uncertain , we cannot predict such things .

Trisha was one of the best neighbors I could've had. I remember when she helped me study for my spanish test in high school. She was such a caring and smart next door mentor. My condolences to the family.

Trisha I’ll never forget the amount of all nighters we pulled in collins, the countless times you let me borrow dishes or straws or the day we hid in the memo basement because of a shooting near campus. You helped me with boy problems and convinced me to stay at baylor when i was sure it wasn’t where i was supposed to be. You were so nice and made everyone feel like they mattered. I wish we had made more of an effort to hangout after moving out collins, but anytime i saw you in passing brightened my day. I hope to show the kindness you showed everyone.  See you soon 💗

To the family of Trisha Karnik, please accept my deepest condolences on  the loss of a beautiful young woman in the prime of her life.  I did not know Trisha personally, but cannot imagine the grief that you feel at her loss.  Please know that the faculty and staff of Baylor are mourning with you and praying for you.

A true ray of light that the world was lucky to experience. Showed God’s love through the way she treated others. I will hold her memory close always. Such an angel.

I miss you so much. I am so grateful we got to grow up together and make so many memories. Whether it was celebrating one of our birthdays, having dance/music practice, or getting in trouble for our various schemes, we always found a way to have a blast when we were together. No matter how long we went without seeing each other, your name would pop up on my phone daily and brighten it. You were such an incredible soul and definitely helped me become who I am today. I will miss you forever.


Trisha was the best person in our high school choir and always knew how to light up the room. She's the kind of friend who is there for her people through the good and bad, always. Love you so much Trisha <3 

I am deeply saddened to learn of Trisha’s passing.  I loved having her in my Spanish class while she was at Coppell Middle School North.  She was a remarkable young lady -  a pleasure to teach everyday and a joy to know.  My prayers for all of the family during this difficult time.  

Your smile is so big and bright in this Trish, I love it so much so I couldn’t help but share it so everyone else could see <3 I’m missing your perfect smile and laugh. This was the day our friends rented the water slide and you kept going down and asked me to take pictures and videos of you going down backwards - I miss you so so much.

I love you always. I will never forget the way your presence lit up an entire room.  You were a huge part of my childhood and no matter how long we went without seeing each other nothing ever changed. You were one of the funniest, most passionate people I had ever known. Every time I think of the song “Someone Like You”, I will think of you and our duet.

I would do anything to be able to hug you, laugh with you, sing with you, and smile with you one more time. You are my sister. Growing up with you meeting in summer camp before middle school and being best friends all through high school, we made so many unforgettable memories that I will always treasure. Singing Les miserable songs together, staying after school with Mrs. Reese, baking at your house, your unicorn and lime green phase, long funny conversations in our kik chats that would make me laugh out loud, deep talks about anything and everything, planning our graduation party together; these are only a few of the many memories that I smile and look back on today. Like sisters we had our ups and downs, but always loved each other and were there for each other regardless. I miss you Trisha. You have taught me so much in life and your memories and the positive impact you have had on me and everyone else around you will live on forever.

I've written this out multiple times and deleted it because I'm struggling to find the words. In a way, posting this makes it seem too real that you are actually gone. Trishy, you were the biggest blessing of my freshman year. My first real friend. You had every reason to hate me; I was a slob that kept dirty dishes under our beds when I didn't feel like washing them and dropped furniture on your head when I tried rearranging our room during finals week. I'm sure you gave Priya frustrated calls, but you showed me nothing but love. You somehow always knew when I needed a Dr. Pepper from Common Grounds or needed a sweet note on my desk for encouragement.
I told you that you intimated me when I first met you, but that never really changed. I think I was intimated about how sure of yourself you were. I've never met someone who knew themselves so well and was so confident with who they were, and honestly, I envied you so much. You only liked things if they were the exact shade of pink, and you only listened to songs by Taylor Swift with the occasional Ed Sheeran song. When I felt so confused and lost my freshman year (and up until my senior year, if I'm honest), you were my source of consistency, and I am really sad that I never told you sooner. You were the life of every party, and I never felt like I had to be anyone but myself around you. You were my friend when I didn't deserve it, a breath of fresh air when I was stressed, and I'll never be able to thank you enough. I can't even begin to describe how much I'll miss you. I'm so sorry, Trishy. Thank you for everything. I will love you forever and ever.

Dear Trisha,
You always lit up every room you ever walked into. From drivers ed lessons to KD workshops to all your trips visiting Austin, whenever we were together it was always fun no matter what. You always knew how to put a smile on my face and your laugh was truly contagious. I’ll never forget our sleepovers where you introduced me to Gossip Girl, convinced me to download Snapchat, and we would end up baking some type of dessert . I hope you’re listening to Taylor Swift and Glee covers of songs wherever you are 🤍 Miss you always.

trish, I don't even know where to start - firstly, I will miss you and I hope that you are resting peacefully. you have this wonderfully contagious energy that is unforgettable. jamming to taylor swift, coffee runs at common grounds, study nights at collins - I will keep those memories fondly in a special place in my heart. when I had to stay up to work or study, you would put on the office and hang with me so I would have company. when I needed a place to stay in dallas, you opened your home to me. whenever I saw you to catch up, it was like no time passed and we would chat like we saw each other every day. I love and miss you so greatly.

I'm having a hard time finding the words to describe your radiant and sparkling personality. But I know that you brought joy to every person in every room, and I could lean on you in any situation. 
I will never know someone as funny, or with as white of teeth, as you. You never failed to bring a smile to my face and our memories will continue to make me laugh every single day.

Just a week ago you bragged about your floor seats that you got for the Eras tour. It feels like just months ago we randomly sat next to each other in environmental science with Holly. I didn’t know anyone in that class and honestly regretted doing IB, but you were my first friend. Anytime we hung out we would always laugh. Raini Rodriguez, Taylor swift, abdulah, the weird envi sci field trips, the IB teachers, even looking through old photos it was hard to find a serious one that wasn’t some sort of joke.

Miss Trisha,
I’ve had these in my room in Malibu since the day I left. I know you’d be happy with how white your teeth are in them. It’s so hard to pick a favorite memory, but one of mine was when we saw Lego Movie 2, attempted to get in to Peppa Pig World, ate custard on the merry go round, and blasted music the whole way home. Someday when we meet again, I know we will finally find a way to go to Peppa World together❤️ I love and miss you so much

I took this photo of Trisha and Cassidy in April for a photography assignment. Trisha is so beautiful in this and was the perfect model, and when I told her I needed a model for my assignment she was more than willing to help me. I loved her enthusiasm the little things, and Cassidy is laughing so big in this picture because of something goofy Trish said. I’m going to miss her so much.
