Davie Lee was born November 9, 1928 in Bell County, Texas to David Clifford Glazner and Grace Wheeler Glazner.
She graduated Killeen High School with the Class of 1945 and attended Tarleton State University.
On July 23, 1953 in Killeen, Texas she married the love of her life Bennett Maples, who preceded her in death in 2010.
From 1962 until 1977 Davie Lee served the citizens of Copperas Cove as the Copperas Cove City Secretary, from 1977 until 1988 she was the office manager for Connell Chevrolet in Copperas Cove.
Davie Lee was Past Matron of the Killeen Chapter 490 Eastern Star, she served on the Copperas Cove Housing Authority Board where she held numerous positions, she was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Copperas Cove and the United Methodist Women.
She was a past Golden Deeds Recipient awarded by the Copperas Cove Exchange Club.
She is survived by three sons, W.B. Maples, Jr. and his wife Lori of Copperas Cove, Clifford Maples and his wife Molly of Kempner and John Maples of Kempner; a sister, Elizabeth Monterosso of Bedford; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Grace United Methodist Church in Copperas Cove with Rev. Bill Bales officiating. Interment will follow in the Copperas Cove City Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Edward Barbie, Allen Lyles, David Smith, Ashby Melton, Philip Urofsky and Ricky Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Clark, Wade Lacy, Kim Vann and Pepper Proctor.
