Erika Anna Sikes

Funeral services for Mrs. Erika Anna Baier Sikes, 81, of Copperas Cove will be held at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home, 211 West Ave B, Copperas Cove, TX 76522 on December 9th at 11:00 am. Visitation will be at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home on December 8 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Erika passed away peacefully on November 22, 2021, after a brief illness.

Erika was a loving sister of 13 siblings, wife, mother of 8 children, Grandmother of 10 and Great Grandmother of 4. She was born March 18, 1940, in Nuremberg Germany and immigrated to the United States in 1968 as the wife of an American Soldier. She became a proud American and Texan after obtaining American citizenship while maintaining her German heritage. She received an associate degree from Central Texas College and went on to be a business operator in Copperas Cove as a co-owner of The Cozy Corner German American Restaurant which was open for several years in the 1980’s. She was an active member in the community as a longtime member of the Citizen’s on Patrol organization and attending their Citizen’s Police Academy, ride along patrol operations, and supporting the police in numerous public events. She enjoyed supporting her favorite football team especially if they made it to the Super Bowl. She was a lifelong fan of Elvis Presley and could be found wherever there was a performance by the local Elvis impersonator. She enjoyed country music and line dancing and could be found dancing in the VFW with the local Line Dancing group. She was especially happy to celebrate holidays with her friends and family with Christmas being her favorite. She will be missed dearly by her loving family.

Erika was predeceased by her parents, Johann Baier and Berta Fietta Baier, her husband Claude Sikes Jr., 12 of her brothers and sisters, and one son. She is survived by 7 of her children and all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren ; James Roder his daughters Paige Roder Dotson and Danielle Roder; Scott Roder; Jerry L. Sikes and his wife Jutta G. Krauskopf Sikes and sons Sean M. Sikes and his wife Lindsey Sikes and their son Ansel Sikes, Daniel A. Sikes, Justin K. Sikes; Sandra M. Sikes Ritter and her husband John Ritter and son Stephan Thomas and his wife Tiffany Thomas and sons Mason Dyer, Hayden Dyer and Blake Thomas; Brenda J. Sikes Parmerter and her husband Ivan J. Parmerter and daughter Cryslin J. Parmerter, Mary E. Sikes Huskey and her husband Richard T. Huskey and daughter Evelyn G. Huskey; Brittney N. Sikes Morrow and her husband Kevin Morrow and sons Ryan Sikes and Evin Morrow.
