

Frank Alan DiMuccio Jr died in his home on 17 Dec 2015. He was born in Summit, New Jersey to Frank Alan & Rose Fietta DiMuccio on 1 Jun 1928. Frank was one of nine children. His brothers and sisters include Dominick DiMuccio, Filomena (Mae) Rosol, Emil DiMuccio, Julia Caffrey, Frederick DiMuccio, Robert DiMuccio, Harold Demarest, and Betty Ann DiMuccio.
Frank married Elvira May (Ellie) Palmer on 1 March 1952. She preceded him in death on 25 Nov 1987. They have three children: Elaine and husband Timothy Cline with two grandchildren Mandy Cline and Marcus Cline; Frank Alan DiMuccio III with one grandson Frank Alan DiMuccio IV; and Cheryl Ann (Tammy) and husband Eddie Blanton with three grandchildren Nicole and husband Moises Rangel with two great-grandchildren Shaeley and Kloie; Karla DeAmicis with great-grandchild Logen; Anthony and wife Tiffaney DeAmicis with two great-grandchildren Aurora and Elizabeth.
In March of 1995 Frank married Carol Ann Courtney from Copperas Cove and they were married the rest of his life. He is survived by his wife Carol Ann, brother Fred, sister Julia, three children, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Frank joined the Army on 26 July 1946 and spent 23 years serving his country. He is a Veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. While in the military he earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Military Science from the University of Maryland. In his early years he was a combat medic and after being commissioned he served in the medical service corps as a hospital administer and later as the Surgeon General for III CORP. He was also a paratrooper and participated in three combat jumps in Korea. Besides serving in the two wars, he was stationed in Japan, Ft. Campbell, KY, Camp Kilmer, NJ, Ft. Devens, MA, Camp Drum, NY, Camp Bussac, France, and Ft. Hood, TX.
He and Ellie and the children arrived in Copperas Cove in the fall of 1962 and opened the Cove Feed and Seed Shoppe in 1963. Ellie ran the business until he retired from the military in December of 1969. In 1973 he opened Frank's Exterminators. He worked every day the rest of his life running and operating the Cove Feed and Seed and Frank's Exterminators. He also owned and operated The Apple Basket in Killeen and Maison Elaine in Copperas Cove.
In his early years in Copperas Cove, Frank was involved in both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, 4-H, FFA, the Cove Saddle Club, and the Teen Center at the Holy Catholic Church. Once his children were grown he turned his focus to matters within the City of Copperas Cove. He was instrumental in the start up of the Economic Development Corporation as well as the Kempner Water Supply Corporation. He was also involved in the Lion's Club, the Military Affairs Committee, the Chamber of Commerce, the Cove Opry, Ogletree Gap, Rabbit Fest, and the Ft. Hood Officer's Club. Frank was always interested in protecting the rights of the people. In 1996 he contacted COL Bud Day and supported his fight against the government on behalf of military rights for medical benefits. Out of this fight, TRICARE for Life was born. He contacted REP John Carter about the inconsistencies with the processing of credit card transfers from point of sale terminals. Frank was a wealth of knowledge of the way the city was operated. He kept copies of all letters, newspapers, and prior events and was asked many times over the years to validate issues with his personal records.
His funeral will be held at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home, 211 West Ave B, Copperas Cove at 0900 Tuesday, 29 Dec 2015. The viewing will be held Monday, 28 Dec 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Frank will be interred at Ft. Sam Houston National Military Cemetery with his wife Ellie.
Pallbearers will be: Timothy Cline, Marcus Cline, Frank Alan DiMuccio III, Frank Alan DiMuccio IV, Moises Rangel, Anthony DeAmicis, and Robert Hawkins.
