Graveside services for SFC (Ret) James A Jones will be1:00pm Tuesday July 14, 2015 at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen with full military honors. James was born in Dawson NC on September 9, 1930 to Albert and Lucy Jones and passed away July 8, 2015 surrounded by family. At the age of 14 he joined the military. He earned various medals while serving his country for 26 years, including the Good Conduct Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Bronze Star medal, and Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars. James was preceded in death by father; Albert Jones, mother; Lucy Jones, brother; Franklin Jones, and sisters; Dorothy Parish and Mae Hathaway. Survivors include sisters; Ann Lies and husband Mack, Alice Edwards and husband Larry, Betty (Kat) Spence and husband Ernest (Duck) and Helen Tuck, children Monika Amann, Renee’ (Susy) Webb, Ilona (Penny) Jones, James Jones Jr., Joel A Jones, Sabrina Pelton and Jamie Barsky, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family will receive visitors from 11am-12pm Tuesday July 14, 2015 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove.
