Met Joe & Pam when we lived in Nellingen Kaserne housing building 3811  than we moved across the  parking lot in bldg 3810 in 1988. Joe lived in bldg 3911 A stairwell.  We loved to get together with the neighbors and have a few drinks and enjoy our get togethers and Joe would always make us laugh. Joe would always have that great positive  attitude and make everyone laugh where ever he went. RIP Joe and we all always have great memories of our times together. Love Jim & Becky Gonzales

Pam, Family, we’re sorry for your/our loss. My husband and I worked with “Crazy Joe” Beckham at the CTSF and OTC.  He was funny and fantastic at his job, sometimes stubborn and infuriating, but the very next minute, and mostly, the best big brother a person could have. He was informative, passionate, caring, and he always kept things interesting. 
Praying for peace for all of us who miss him. 

Ms Pammie just heard about Joe from Mike.  So sorry for your loss. I have a bunch of fond memories about you guys.

Pam so sorry for your loss, family as well. I just saw this. It's been years since I've seen Joe or you. Wishing you peace.

     I am so sorry for your loss, I only knew Joe for a few years but he had a large impact on me personally and professionally.  I flew with him in Stuttgart from 1989 - 1991 before our unit was deactivated.  I flew across the North Atlantic with Joe when we turned in our RC-12’s to Lakehurst Naval Air Station. 
     Joe was his own man, he knew what he’d accomplished in his career and life, he also knew that he didn’t have to prove anything to anyone else.   I’ve been trying to get to a Mohawk reunion for the last several years because I wanted to see him again to thank him for all he taught me.  I’ve unfortunately had to have several surgeries to repair damage from the Army before I was commissioned and went into aviation.   I’m finally able to travel again but I’m sad that I won’t be able to see him once more.  
     Joe was respected by those who knew him, I had a great deal of respect for him taking the time to teach me all that he did.  My prayers go out to your family, I hope that you’ll find comfort in knowing that Joe touched so many lives during his life.

Condolences from Kara and I go out to Pam and her family.  There will never be another Joe!!! He and I had several check rides together and missions as well.  He was an outstanding aviator and mentor both in the air and on the ground!! Life of any party, he would brighten up your event no matter what was happening!  I will miss you Joe!!!!!

Joe and I were classmates in flight school. He and his family lived next door to  my family in the Denmark Trailer park in Hinesville, Ga, just outside the back gate entrance to Ft. Stewart. We had many great times during those  4 months there. I also was selected for OV-1 Mohawk training and was in that class with him as well. We also later crossed paths in Germany where we got together several times. My wife (Taffy) and I always have had many fond memories of Joe and even though we lost contact over the years we frequently talked about him. He was a fun guy to be with and a great pilot. Joe will always be remembered.  Paul Mellen 

My name is Chuck Engle and I was with Dirty Joe in Korea in 1979-1980.  I flew with Joe to get border qualified and after my final checkout, Joe did what he always did for the new Mohawk pilots - he assigned our radio callsigns for the rest of our tour.  Joe could not understand how I could be a pilot, especially a Mohawk pilot, when I did not drink alcohol or coffee, nor did I smoke.  As a result, he hung the callsign SNOW WHITE on me.  For the rest of my tour, I got a lot of attention because of that callsign.  I grew to greatly admire Joe for his wit and wisdom.  Unfortunately, after only a month or so of flying the Mohawk in Korea, I was given command of the RU-21H company and never flew the Mohawk again.  My sincere condolences on your loss - Joe was a great guy who was always the life of the party!

Was in Germany ( 25th Avn Co ) with Joe, many many good laughs, times to say the least.  Great mentor.

Joe was legendary in the OV-1 Mohawk and US Army Aviation communities.
He was a character in every sense of the word and a trusted agent to the soldiers, officers and commanders over his many years of military service.  
Joe was a great aviator, mentor and warrant officer
He will be missed.

Very sorry to hear of Joe’s passing.  As you know Pam, he was a true treasure.  My condolences to you and the girls.

I remember facing Joe in a racquet ball tournament and thinking since Joe is almost ten years older than me, I got this. He sent me packing in short order. Joe was good at a lot of things. RIP Joe…

I had served at several duty stations with Joe throughout the years. He always addressed me as Slick and I remember picking on him telling him that he had gone to the dark side when he transitioned over to the RC-12's. With that grin he always had he told me Slick, now you have to show me some respect. I have always had the utmost respect for him. RIP Joe.

Joe was always a great friend. I first met Joe in Hanau Germany. He was always there to give me advice and helping encourage. Flew many Hawk hours with Joe. Last time I saw Joe at the Mohawk reunion in Washington DC and had a great time with him listing to his stories. Always the life of the party.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Joe. Many fond memories of our time together as Army Aviators from flight school through Viet Nam flying Mohawks. RIP Joe!

I was saddened to learn of Joe‘s passing. He was in the army with my husband, CW3 Sandy Oliphant. They flew the Mohawk helicopter.  I saw Joe a few times at the Killeen Crawford, Bowers funeral home, where we caught up with each one’s lives.   RIP, Joe.

I am so sorry to hear about this. Joe was the life of the party and a light in every room he entered. He made everyone he met feel special and was an immediate friend. Pam— I am sending love and positive thoughts to you and the whole family. I cannot begin to know how you must feel. Joe will be dearly missed. 

No words can express the sadness of this heavy lost.  Pam, my heart and prayers are with you and the family.  

Pam, I am sorry to hear about Joe. I will remember him as someone who always had a smile and made others happy. He made the best lasagna.

Joe and I flew a Hawk to San Antonio for an airshow. When we checked into the hotel in our flight suits, the girls at the counter were all giddy and flirty. They asked if we were with the Blue Angles. Joe immediately took the lead and ran with it. He told the girls that flying with the Blue Angles was exciting and fun. The Navy only selected it's very best to fly with the team and we were the cream of the crop. 

Joe had the gift of embellishing the moment. There was never a dull moment with Joe. He will be missed.

I am going to miss him. He was a great friend. And miss going out to eat with him and he would help me when I needed it like come and get me if I need it and we would talk about things of how I was doing.
