MSG Juan M. Jaramillo Jr.

Master Sergeant Juan Manuel Jaramillo, Jr., a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom & The Iraq War and a resident of Hinesville, Georgia passed away on March 27, 2025, surrounded by family. He was the beloved husband of Leticia Ann.

Juan was born on September 30, 1981 in Del Rio, TX to the late Juan Manuel Jaramillo, Sr. and Juanita Maldonado. He attended Iraan High School and Texas A&M University before enlisting in the U.S. Army.

Juan’s military service and sacrifice started in 2001. Shortly after his first deployment to Operation Enduring Freedom, he met his future wife who he later shared a loving marriage and life with.

As a private, first class for the Army, Juan saw action in Operation Enduring Freedom & The Iraq War. He had many amazing stories of his time there. He wrote incredible letters home detailing the antics of his fellow soldiers, the scenery in the area, and a very edited description of the action he encountered.

Soon after meeting his future wife, they were married and started a family. He was a proud and loving husband and father to their three children.

Master Sergeant Juan M. Jaramillo, Jr. was active in duty and planned for retirement after 24 years of dedicated service with the U.S. Army.

The U. S. Army recognized Juan with his honorable service with (2) Meritorious Service Medals, (6) Army Commendation Medals, (3) Army Achievement Medals, (5) Certificates of Achievement, and a Valorous Unit Award. Juan also had a Marksmanship Qualification Badge as a Sharpshooter with a Rifle.

A memorial service has been organized to honor Juan’s life and military service on April 23, 2025 at the Fort Stewart Army Base in the state of Georgia.

Juan was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, grace, patience, and faith. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him by the way he lived, and for the profound impact he had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Juan’s passion was family and friends. Outside of his military duties, he enjoyed fishing, working on cars, golf, listening to music, and fiddling with anything that wasn’t working and fixing it.

Juan is preceded in death by his father, Juan Manual Jaramillo, Sr.; his nephew, Albert Raymond Willock; both paternal and maternal grandparents along with many loved ones who greeted him with open arms and love.

Juan is survived by his wife, Leticia Ann; daughters, Aiyana Nikole & Alivia Rosalia; son, Antonio Manuel; mother, Juanita Maldonado; sisters, Julia Patricia Willock & husband, Brad, Jacqueline Palacios & husband, Jose Cruz, and Janet Logsdon & husband, James.

He also leaves behind his nephews, Brad Willock, Jr., JoAnthoni Palacios, and Matthew Willock; nieces, Sarah Clavano, Briley Zade Mendez, Brett Arias, Jr., Jylene Palacios, Alexia Tipton, Hayley Arias, Jiselle Palacios, Justice Arias, Enya Logsdon, & Julyanna Palacios and many aunts, uncles, great nephews, a great niece, and cousins who loved him dearly.

Although Juan’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May his memory be a blessing, and may we carry forward his legacy of love and compassion in all that we do.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 9 a.m. at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery located at 11463 SH-195 in Killeen, TX.

Visitation, Monday, April 14, 2025 from 1pm - 6pm with a Celebration of Life service from 6pm-8pm at the Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home located at 211 W Ave B in Copperas Cove, TX.
