

She grew up in an exceptionally large family being number 8 out of fifteen siblings. They lived on a farm. She graduated from Ellendale High School in 1963.
She married James German on December 31st, 1964, in Oakes, North Dakota. She remarried Johnny Sadler on August 7th, 2015, in Copperas Cove, Texas. She loved to play softball, garden, dance, quilt and do crafts. She enjoyed going to sporting events, music and band concerts, color guard, and dance team performances and 4-H events of her children and grandchildren.
Julie, what people would call her, was in the medical field starting as a Nursing Aide or CNA. She went to college in Iowa and received her LVN and finished with her RN nursing degree with honors. She was a nurse in Iowa and Texas until she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer in 2000 but with treatments was cancer free.
Julie has lived in North Dakota, Iowa, Texas, Georgia, and Oklahoma.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers (Alois, Leonard, Paul, Art, and Anthony), her sisters (Eva and Ella), her daughter, Janell Girodat, her first husband, James German, and second husband, Johnny Sadler.
She is survived by her daughters Janeen (Andrew Garza), (Gary Girodat), Jessica (Lewis Gutheridge), her sons James (Karen) German, Jarrett German. She has fifteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren. She is survived by her brothers Charles, Bruce, and Francis Dunn. Her sisters Louise Lux, Jean Coleman, Darlene Yockey, and Mary Castro.
Julie worked hard all of her life and had a strong Catholic Faith that was evident during good and bad times in her life. She would always say that “Jesus suffered for us, so I can suffer through some pain and hardship.” She is loved and will be missed by so many until we see you again.
A family gathering will be held on June 5, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM for her family and friends and then following with a Rosary starting at 7:00 PM.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10 AM on June 6, 2025 in the Chapel of Crawford Bowers Funeral Home followed by a Graveside Service in the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
