

Malcolm was born August 18, 1929 to Mayland Ploof and Lula (Smith) Ploof in Malone, New York.
On March 17, 1952 he married the love of his life Shigeko (Gayle) Matsuta in Kobe, Japan the two of them just celebrated fifty nine years of marriage.
He served in the United States Army until his retirement on October 31, 1970 as Sergeant First Class. While serving he received the Air Medal and the Combat Medical Badge. He was a Vietnam Veteran.
After the service “Mac” worked on Fort Hood as a civil servant and as a hunting guide on Fort Hood for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Shigeko (Gayle) Ploof of Copperas Cove; a son, David Ploof of Kempner; a daughter, Lucy Lunde and her husband Earl of Troy; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The Ploof family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home Chapel in Copperas Cove with Pastor Jody Jones officiating. Interment services will follow in the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
