

Master Sergeant (ret) Marvin Lee Anderson Jr., 78, of Copperas Cove, Texas passed away in his home surrounded by his loving wife and children. He fought a great fight against Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
Andy, as he was often known by, was born on August 10, 1946, in Philadelphia, PA to Marvin L. Anderson Jr. and Eleanor Marie Anderson. He enjoyed some sports growing up and took part in baseball and enjoyed fishing. He took to fishing so well that he made his own nets. Marvin attended Orange Park High School in Jacksonville, FL. And graduated in 1965.
Right after high school Marvin joined the Army, where he met his beautiful wife, Rebecca (Becky) and were married on April 6, 1968 in Ft. Sam Houston, San Antonio, Tx. They were soon blessed with 3 children. He served this country for 27 years, traveling all over the world, to include four NATO bases, served in two wars: Vietnam and as a support battalion for Desert Storm.
During his career in the Army, he was awarded with the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal with two oak clusters, the Good Conduct Medal (8th) Award, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Vietnam Medal with two bronze stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the National Defense Service medal with one service star.
Andy and Becky were married 56 years with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Eleanor Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Becky, son Marvin L. Anderson III (Christina), daughters Stacie L. Anderson and Dawn Wynkoop (Matthew).
