Max Schroeter

Max was born in Kokomo, IN on April 15, 1934 to Herbert and Arleen Schroeter. He died peacefully in his sleep after an extended illness on March 9, 2012.

Mr. Schroeter was a retired Army Sergeant Major spending 34 years in the United States Military. Prior to joining the Army he was a Corpsman in the Navy during the Korea War. He was also policeman in Kokomo, IN for 8 years and a Peace Officer in Killeen following his retirement from the Army.

He is survived by his wife the former Madonna Kinney of 55 years who he married in Kokomo, IN on January 19, 1957. He is also survived by four children; Teresa and husband Steve Winters of Copperas Cove, Maureen Schroeter of Kempner, Michael Schroeter and wife Mary Kay of Prince George, VA, and Christopher Schroeter of Dallas, TX. Also surviving are four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two brothers, eight sister-in-laws, two brother-in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews. Max was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela, a sister and his parents.

There will be a visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 12, 2012 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove.
