Quentin graduated from Kempner High School. He was drafted into the Army, which marked the beginning of a life dedicated to hard work and perseverance. After his time in service, Quentin owned and operated Hughes Masonry for 60 years, often working from early mornings late into the night to provide for his family.
On July 20, 1957, Quentin married the love of his life, Derlice. The couple enjoyed 64 years of marriage, cherishing their wonderful family until Derlice's passing in 2021.
Quentin had a knack for fixing anything and enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, particularly spending time with his grandchildren and savoring a good bucket of Blue Bell ice cream.
Quentin is preceded in death by his wife, Derlice Hughes and his parents.
Quentin leaves behind to treasure his memory; a son Flint Hughes and his wife Kellie; three daughters, Leisa Yoho and her husband Danny, Wendy Morrison and her husband Josh and Ashley Shipp and her husband Greg Wright; eight grandchildren, Trampus Morrison and his wife Jennifer, Topper Morrison, Riggen Hughes, Rowdy Hughes, Ridge Hughes, Tatum Morrison and her fiance Trevor, Desarae (Yoho) Beaver and her husband Brian, and Desta (Yoho) Morua; great grandchildren, Cade Rogers, Cazely Rogers, Sophia Morua, Rusty Liebherr, and Aspen Leibherr.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7pm on Thursday February 5, 2026 at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home , located at 211 W Avenue B, Copperas Cove, TX 76522. A Funeral Service to honor Quentin's life will be held at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home on Friday February 6, 2026, beginning at 11:00 am followed by a Graveside Service at Smith Cemetery in Kempner, TX.
Quentin will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family and his legacy of resilience and hard work will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.
