Richard served 30 years in the United States Marine Corps and was the Marine Corps band director. He retired at the rank of Major. After his military retirement, Richard worked as a real estate agent for Century 21 and Remax. Richard also belonged to the Lions Club of Spring Valley, California.
Richard is preceded in death by his wife, Coleen Fleet.
He is survived by his son, Michael Fleet and wife Anette; grandsons, Christopher Fleet and Niklas Fleet; and great-grandson Joshua Fleet; and brothers James "Jim" Fleet and Brian Fleet.
There are no services planned at this time. Richard will be laid to rest at a later date at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego, California.
