

Sam was born on July 5th 1946, as Samuel Raymond Farrington in Ukiah California, to parents Elmer and Dora Farrington. However, after unfortunate events Sam was then adopted by Harry D Mowery in 1961 at the age of 15 years old. After being adopted, his name was then changed to Samuel Ray Mowery, also known as Sam.
At the young age of 19, he joined the United States Army in a year 1965. He fought in the Vietnam War for 2 ½ years, after leaving Vietnam he was stationed in Fort Hood, TX. While stationed at Fort Hood, He went to a butch's cafe in Belton, TX. While there he found his true love in a young waitress named Kathy Love. Soon after that they married in the 19th St. Chapel in Fort Hood, Texas, they married on June 10th of 1969. A year later, the two then welcomed their first and only child, William Keith Mowery. From that point on, they traveled around the world while Sam proceeded to serve the United States military. Until the year 1985, when he retired from the United States Army.
After retirement, the family settled in Copperas Cove Texas, which is where he began his career of working for Coppers Cove School District as the Carpenter. He worked for the Copperas Cove School District from 1985 to 2005. In the years 1993, 2000, and 2007 Sam welcomed 3 grandchildren, Shawn, Rebecca, and Piper.
Sam is preceded in death by his mother Dora Guin Farrington, his biological father Elmer Oran Farrington, his adopted father Harry D. Mowery, His two brothers Wade and Everett and his one sister, Jodi.
Sam was survived by his wife Kathy Mowery, his son and daughter-in-law, William and Sherry Mowery, his three grandchildren and their spouses, Shawn and Mamie Brewer, Rebecca and Kenneth Novy, and Piper Mowery, and his three great grandchildren Ariel, Junior, and Chloe Brewer.
When in life Sam had many hobbies, a few of them being carpentry and cars. Sam had a love for old classic cars; his favorite car being a 1956 Ford 2 Door Hardtop. Sam loved spending time with his family and close friends, whether it was going to car shows, or Sunday dinners, or going on trips.
After living a long and happy life with those he cared about and loved, Sadly, on December 26th of 2025, Sam passed away. Sam was loved very much and will be dearly missed.
