Susan Marie Crawley (née Duca)
January 22, 1982 – May 21, 2025
Susan Marie Crawley, age 43, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025, after a courageous and faith-filled battle with cancer.
Born at Fort Knox, Kentucky, and raised in Copperas Cove, Texas, Susan was the beloved daughter of Samuel and Sun Cha Duca. From an early age, she radiated kindness, a vibrant spirit, and a deep love for her family.
Susan shared 13 beautiful years of marriage with her best friend and partner in life, Derrick Crawley. Together, they built a joyful and meaningful life centered around love, laughter, and their greatest blessing—their 10-year-old son, Cash. Susan had a passion for cooking, especially proud of sharing her Korean dishes with family and friends. Her favorite role was cheering on Cash at his baseball and soccer games—her joy and pride shining with every play.
She chose to live life fully, never letting cancer define her—continuing to work, camping with Derrick and Cash, and making cherished memories on family vacations with Sam & Rosi, Jimmy & Kim, Seann & Tiffany, Jason & Jennifer, and Blake & Nancy. She loved boating adventures with Chuck & Lyndsey, and sharing a drink with her dad at baseball games and concerts. One of her favorite traditions was singing her heart out at New Kids on the Block concerts with her lifelong bestie, Nancy. Whether it was a road trip, a concert, or a night of karaoke, Susan embraced every moment with laughter, music, and love.
A woman whose faith deepened throughout her journey, Susan loved God and drew immense peace and strength from Him, especially in her final years. She found comfort in attending Manna Church, where her spirit was continually uplifted.
Susan was dedicated to her work, spending 15 years in the finance department at the City of Harker Heights. She was admired for her dedication, grace, and integrity. Her family is deeply grateful for the compassion and support the City showed throughout her health journey.
Susan will always be remembered for her sweetness, her courage, and her deeply caring heart. She left this world surrounded by love, at peace, free from pain, and full of grace.
Susan is survived by her loving husband, Derrick, and their son, Cash; her parents, Samuel F. and Sun Cha Duca; brother-in-law and sister, Kimberly and Jimmy Gonzales, with nephew RJ Harkins, great-nephew Tobey Ray Harkins, and niece Kayleah Harkins; her brother and sister-in-law, Samuel J. and Rosimar Duca, with niece Victoria and nephew Samuel Duca; her uncle and aunt, David and Suk Y.
