

He graduated from McCooey High school in Hannibal, Missouri class of 1952. He joined the military shortly after.
He served many tours during his 26 yrs. in the U.S. Army, including overseas tours to Germany, Japan, Vietnam, Ecuador, Bolivia, and Iran. Warner met Verna Edwards during his tour in Bolivia Christmas Eve 1965 and they were later married October 7, 1967 while stationed in Ft. Devine Massachusetts. Shortly after Warner and Verna returned for their final overseas tour to Bolivia, Ecuador and Iran; they welcomed a daughter Karla Rae Williams born in Iran in 1973.
Warner and his family were then stationed to Ft. Hood Texas in December 1973 where he retired in April 1979. After retirement from the army Warner pursued a Civil Service career working data processing at III Corp finance on FT. Hood. He retired after 20 yrs. of Civil Service in 1998.
His hobbies included Bowling, avid Sci-Finland reader, and cartoon artist.
He was a devoted loving husband, father, grandfather and will be dearly missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his mother Catherine Marie and his father Harry Walter as well as his sister Mary Ann Williams all from Hannibal Missouri.
Survivors include wife, Verna Williams, daughter, Karla Williams, 3 grandchildren Kevin and his wife Teaysha Williams, Katelyn Blobaum and Liberty Williams. Also 1 great-grandson Kameron Wayne Williams all from Copperas Cove. A brother Stephen and his wife Mary Williams of Papillion Nebraska, 3 sisters Barbara Jean and her husband John Murphy of Hannibal Missouri, Judy Williams of West Point Illinois, and Carol Williams of Colombia Missouri and numerous nieces nephews.
The Williams family will receive guests for a social gathering from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM Friday, August 25, 2017 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home Copperas Cove. A memorial service in honor of Warner will be held at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home Copperas Cove. Inurnment will follow at Killeen Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors.
