

Mr. Henry died September 12, 2012 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born July 14, 1919 in Alcorn Co. to the late Clyde and Lena Henry. He was a member of of Lone Oak Baptist Church, retired farmer. In 1942 Mr. Henry entered the US Army, faving fought in five major campaigns during his 32 months overseas, Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arne, Southern France, Rhineland and central Europe. He was a tank commander and received an honorable discharge as a sergeant. He received the Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle East Theater Medal with Bronze Arrowhead, the American Defense Medal, the WWII Victory Medal and Purple Heart for wounds received. He enjoyed playing guitar for the Hatchie Ramblers.
Preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Essary Henry, Parents, Sisters Bernice Strickland, Laverne Moore, brothers Otis and Enoch Henry.
Survived by his daughters Mira (Charles) Vaiden of Middleton, TN., Gail (Johnny) Hill of Dumas, MS. sons Jimmy (Vicky) Henry 0f Satillo, MS. Jeff (fiancé Diane Cole) of Kossuth, MS. Joey (Sheila) Henry of Corinth, MS. Aaron (Cathy) Henry of Kossuth, MS. Grandchildren Melissa (Dell) Hopper, Tony (Tarra) Robinson, Charlie (Andrea) Robinson, Brad (Klancy) Hill, Kelly (Shane) Fryar, Abby (Colby) Roberts, Patrick (Lindsey) Henry, April (Adam) Bullard, Shelby Henry, Justin( Lisa) Henry, Christy (Joe) Irwin, Tyler (Jade) Henry, Heather( Robert) Sharp, Haley Henry, Curtis (Deonne) Henry, Matthew (Christina) Henry 27 great grandchildren. Host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Grandson will service as pallbearers.
