A graveside service for Bertha Lawson, 92, will be held on Thursday at 1:00 PM at Pleasant Hill Methodist Cemetery.
Ms. Lawson passed away on September 30, 2025 at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo. She was born on October 9, 1932 in Alcorn County to the late Cranford and Lily Rogers Nelms. She was of the Baptist faith. She and her late husband, William, owned and operated a service station in the Biggersville area.
She is survived by her sister, Nadine Derryberry; sister-in-law, Brenda Nelms; and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Street Lawson; brothers, Walter Nelms, Grady Nelms and Edward Nelms; and sisters, Lottie Nelms, Lola Ashcraft and Vera Dixon.
