Mrs. Billie Wadlington

Billie Herring Wadlington, 94, passed away on October 19, 2024. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, October 25, 2024 at Henry Cemetery, with the Rev. Kim Ratliff officiating.

Billie was born in Pascagoula, MS on July 16, 1930 to Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Herring. She graduated from Pascagoula High School, attended Belhaven College and The University of Mississippi. She was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.

Billie married Lamar Wadlington on July 22, 1950. They then moved to Memphis before moving to Corinth in 1954, where they lived for more than 60 years. Billie was a member of the First United Methodist Church for all her adult life. She relished her role as wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, community servant, friend to many, and hostess.

Billie is survived by her two sons, Lamar Wadlington, Jr. and William Wadlington (Laura); son-in-law, John Stanley IV; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Lamar Wadlington; daughter, Lenoir Stanley; and sisters, Hermine Braden and Jane McClarty.
