Graveside services to Celebrate the Life of Dorothy “DeJay” Shields, 66, is set for 5 pm at Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 1 pm until 5 pm at Memorial Funeral Home.

DeJay's request was, "Come as you are!" She wanted everyone to wear everyday clothing so that it would be a true celebration of her life!

Dorothy passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was born on April 9, 1956 to the late Paul and Verna Vuncannon in Corinth, MS. She enjoyed planting flowers, working in the yard, traveling, crocheting blankets and most importantly spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Shields; two sons, Curtis Shields (Marsha) and Matthew Shields (Caitlyn); two sisters, Ann Vuncannon and Brenda Vincent; two grandchildren, Braxton Shields and Abigail Shields; nephew, James Vuncannon (Maggie); and brother-in-law, Lee Shields
