Harold P. Smith

Harold passed away on December 11, 2023 at Stoneridge Assisted Living in Corinth. He was born on February 7, 1938 in Prentiss County to the late Harold Lee and Ivy Mae Padgett Smith. He was a 1955 graduate of Marietta High School. He began college at Northeast Community College then received his undergraduate degree from Mississippi State University. He later obtained his masters of science and administration in 1963 from the University of Mississippi. He retired after 26 years as the principal of Corinth High School and preceded that as principal at East Corinth, South Corinth, and Corinth Junior High. He was a member of First Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Vonceil Brewster Smith; sons, Harold “Lee” Smith, II and Kelcy Brewster Smith (Crystal); grandchildren, McCartney Smith, Addie Smith and Kathryn Smith; brother in law, Benny Brewster (Donna); nieces and nephews, Chase Brewster Brassfield, Kelci Brewster Thompson, John Seay, Jim Seay, Phil Potts, Parrish Potts and host of other family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Jane Smith Seay; mother and father in law, Mr. and Mrs. Kelcy Brewster.

Honorary pallbearers will be CHS class of 1962 and all former faculty and staff of Harold’s.

Rev. Kim Ratliff and Rev. Elizabeth West will officiate the service.
