

Henry Story died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born Jan. 1, 1933, in Clarksville, TN to Nolan and Ethel Story. He was a retired preacher, serving 44 years in the Methodist Conference. He was a graduate of Blue Mountain College and Memphis Theological Seminary.
His first pastorate was at the Mt. Carmel Methodist Church in the Wenasoga community and for many years he served as pastor of several church in North Mississippi. These included the Ripley Circuit, Calvary Church in New Albany, Grace and Liberty Churches in Booneville, St. Stevens in Columbus, Belmont and Dennis churches, Indian Spring, Hopewell and Box Chapel here in Corinth. After serving all these years, he never thought that he would retire from the place that his ministry began, at the Mt. Carmel Methodist Church.
Along with his duties of being a pastor, he was a chaplain for Alcohol and Drug Center in Columbus and for Methodist Outreach in Memphis where he was also a counselor. He served as the director and chaplain for the Wesley Foundation at Mississippi Delta Community College and taught Bible classes at Northeast Mississippi Community College. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, and enjoyed reading, music and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his daughters, Kathy Fowler and husband Glen of Corinth, Kim Wallace and husband Ray of Memphis; a son, Jeff Story and wife Deni of Willimgton, N.C.; a sister-in-law, Gail Doty and husband Joe of Corinth; 14 grandchildren, Kristen, Hunter, J.B., Mitchell, Will, Lilli, Emma, Jack, Shelly, Erin, Elizabeth, Adrienne, Ryan and Nigel; 2 great-grandchildren, Jude and John; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Jeanette McCalla Story; his parents; and several brothers and sisters.

MS. He was a US Air Force veteran. He enjoyed reading, music and spending time with his family.
Preceded in death by his wife of 47 years Jeanette McCalla Story, parents and several brothers and sisters.
