James Adrian Allen

James Adrian Allen, 85, of Kossuth, MS went to rest in his eternal home on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at his residence. Mr. Allen was born September 25, 1939 to the late John and Georgia Parish Allen in Corinth, Mississippi.

James was an Elder at The Covenant Presbyterian Church. He was the owner of Allen's Grocery in Kossuth. James was a board member for the Kossuth Town Board. He was a volunteer for the Kossuth Fire Department and enjoyed serving in his community. James was known for having a "green thumb" and enjoyed farming, gardening, and flowers. He was a dedicated husband to his wife of 53 years, Mrs. Anne Sherard Allen.

Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his parents.

James is survived by his wife, Anne Allen; a sister-in-law, Anita Sherard; special friends, Mike Dawson and Edna Glover; a special and dedicated caregiver, Syble Thrasher; his cat, Feisty; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

There is a Celebration of Life Service scheduled for Sunday, January 5, 2025 beginning at three o'clock in the afternoon at McPeters Funeral Directors with Bro. Joe Young and Bro. Alan Parker officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at one o'clock in the afternoon until service time.

Pallbearers for the service are Rob Rogers, Danny Newton, Stanley Nelms, Mike Dawson, Short Mincey, Caleb Marrolt, Wade Moore, and John Hussey. Honorary pallbearers will be The Kossuth Town Board Members, Mayor Don Pace, Town Clerk Randy Holt, Town Attorney Nick Bain, Aldermen Billy White, Nan Jones, Caleb Marrolt, and Sherry Rollinson.
