

Funeral Services celebrating the life of John Marsh will be 1pm Friday, October 10, 2025 at Lone Oak Baptist Church with Bro.Tracy Quillian officiating and Jonathan Marsh delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow at Oaks Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025 from 5pm until 8pm and on Friday from 11am until service time at the church.
John passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at his home at the age of 64 . He was born on July 10, 1961 at Whitfield Hospital to the late Samuel Martin Marsh and Mary Louise York Marsh. John graduated in 1979 from Kossuth High School then attended Northeast Mississippi Community College. He drove a tour bus with Senator Coaches for Brooks & Dunn. Since 2003 John, was the owner and operator of the Slugburger Cafe where he acquired the famous name "Slugburger Man". He made numerous friends and some of them even became family.
Up until John became ill, he was an active member of Lone Oak Baptist Church for over 20 years. He never let his faith fall short and would say, "God is Good" period! John enjoyed all sports, NASCAR, local dirt track racing, country music, telling stories from his tour bus days, exotic birds, seeing his customers at the cafe, and spending time with his grandchildren.
John was greeted in heaven by his parents; and father and mother in law, Eddie Clyde Dunn and Brenda Jones Dunn.
John is survived by his wife and soulmate, Cindy Dunn Marsh of 27 years; children, Dustin Marsh (Jessica), JonScott Marsh (Emily), Maggie Macias (Julio), and Maecie Grose (Ryan); grandchildren, Jacob Marsh, Jayden Marsh, Cooper Marsh, Oakleigh Marsh, Maddie Essary, Eddien Macias, Elliot Macias, Lio Macias, Elonso Macias, Emiliana Macias, Emma Kate Grose, and Brodie Grose; siblings, Jeannie Arnold (Ronnie), Deb Spivey (Mike) and Ricky Marsh (Cathy); and his special friends, his cafe girls.
Pallbearers include Doug Essary, Joey Gilmore, Johnny James, Joe Sanders, Roger Spencer, and Maurice Stafford. Honorary pallbearers include, Ronnie Chappell, Gerald Essary, Don Phifer, Zack Stacy, Joe Price, Marcus Simmons, and Alan Wooten.
John has lived an exciting life filled with joy. This isn't goodbye John "Henry," this is see you later PERIOD.
