

John Kimble Mosley, Jr. of Corinth passed peacefully away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at the age of 70. Born on July 21,1955 in Leadville, Colorado, he was the beloved son of the late John Kimble Mosley, Sr. and Loretta M. Mosley. After graduating from high school in Buena Vista, Colorado, John proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1973 to 1977, working as a boiler room mechanic aboard the USS Richmond K.Turner. Following his honorable service, he spent two years working alongside his father at Climax Mining. In 1979, he relocated to Plant City, Florida, where he began a new chapter in his life, pursuing a degree in nursing. He earned his Registered Nurse (RN) license from Hillsborough Community College and devoted himself to the profession with compassion and dedication until his retirement in 2017.
It was during his time as a nurse in Brandon, Florida, that John met his future wife, Edith, while working a hospital shift. They were married on November 27,1987 just six months after their first date and shared many happy years together.
John was a man of unwavering faith. He spent his mornings studying scripture and his Sunday's in worship, playing the trumpet in his church's praise band. After his conversion to the Hebrew faith, he embraced the shofar, mastering its powerful sound and sharing it in worship with his congregation on the Sabbath.
A lifelong motorcycle enthusiast, John discovered his love of riding at age 14. He and Edith spent countless weekends on the road together, enjoying long rides and the fellowship of fellow bikers. When not riding, John could be found meticulously maintaining, polishing or upgrading his beloved bike.
John's life was marked by service, faith, and devotion to family. He leaves behind a legacy of love dedication and joyful music that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Stinnett.
John is survived by his loving wife of over 37 years, Edith Mosley; stepdaughters, Christine Helton (Darrell) and Michelle Wendel (Bryan); grandsons, Thomas Lamb (Suzanne) and Johnathan Wendel; great-grandchildren, Bailey Lamb, Morgan Lamb and Nolan Lamb. He is also remembered with love by his niece Amanda Stinnett and nephews Gordon and Douglas Stinnett.
A visitation will be held Friday, September 26, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:50 PM at Memorial Funeral Home. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 1:00 PM at Corinth National Cemetery, 1551 Horton St., Corinth, MS 38834.
Pallbearers include Darryl Helton, Brian Windle, Thomas Lamb, Timothy Shea, Joseph Shea, James Shea, and Joshua Dickerson. Honorary pallbearers include Jim Shawley, and Jim Dickerson.
In honor of John's fun loving personality the family who would like for you to choose your favorite tropical or Hawaiian shirt to wear to the service.
