Celebration of Life service for Leon Parks Frazier 80, is set for 6:00pm Thursday at Memorial
Funeral Home with Rev. Trey Lambert officiating. Burial will be in the Henry Cemetery.
Mr. Frazier died September 23, 2019 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born
November 19, 1938 in Washington, DC. He was raised in Statesville, N.C. and graduated from
Celeste Henkel High School, before going to North Carolina State University and graduating
with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Projects he supervised included the Shearson
Lehman Plaza and ABC Broadcasting Company building in New York City, and the Memphis
Publishing Company and Hilton Hotel in Memphis, Tennessee. He resided in the New York area
and Memphis,TN for his professional life. When he retired he moved back to Statesville, NC to
be close to his parents and then followed his grandchildren with his wife to Cincinnati and
most recently Corinth. He enjoyed putting his engineering knowledge to work by assisting
with all sorts of projects, big and small, with friends and family. He was the consummate
gentleman and was very frustrated when his ailing body would not permit him to stand when
a lady entered the room. He spent his time caring for his ailing wife of 57 years who preceded
him to the Lord 18 months previously. When he wasn't active with his or others projects,
following his grandchildren in their academic and sporting exploits, or working out doing his
cardiac rehab, you could find him watching Fox News and soaking up the political
commentary. He recently started attending Gaines Chapel Methodist Church.
He leaves behind his children; Dr. Randall P Frazier and wife Tammi of Corinth, Felicia Bourbon
of Wyoming, Ohio and Gregory L Frazier and wife Jaime of Goshen, New York. His
grandchildren; Parks Frazier, Erin Frazier, Baylor Frazier, Cooper Frazier, Mason Bourbon,
Madison Bourbon, Myles Bourbon, Cole Frazier, Sydney Frazier, Lily Frazier; his loving sister,
Gertine Agee of Richmond, VA., brother-in-law, Dr. Don Gant of Statesville, NC. and a host of
other family and friends.
