Leonard Lenny Ira Jefferson, III

Leonard I “Lenny” Jefferson, III, age 35, died Monday, August 8, 2011 at Medical College of Georgia as the result of an automobile accident. Mr. Jefferson was a 1994 graduate of Dyersburg High School. He earned an Associate degree in Business/Psychology/Sociology from Northeast Mississippi Community College and later attended UNA. Mr. Jefferson was a member of Jesus Name Community Church. He enjoyed all sport especially football. He had a special love for animals. His favorite pets were his cats, Peanut and Samantha. His greatest fulfillment in life came from being involved with his two beautiful daughters. Mr. Jefferson was a former Funeral Director Assistant at Elliott Sons Funeral Home in Augusta, Georgia and was presently employed with Caterpillar of Corinth.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, August 11, 2011, 12:00 P.M. at McPeters Funeral Home Chapel.

Bro. Gary Porterfield will officiate. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. and will continue until service time.

Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Johnson Jefferson; two daughters, Alexandria (Allie) Jefferson and Abigail (Abbie) Jefferson; his mother, Trish Jefferson all of North Augusta, SC.; his father, Leonard I. Jefferson, Jr. of Corinth, Ms.; step grandmother, Patricia Marks; uncle, Eddie Marks both of St. Petersburg, Fl.; mother in law, Janie Johnson; and brother in law, Larry Johnson both of Walnut, Ms.

Mr. Jefferson is preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward L. Marks and Ann Sibley Elder; his father in law, Elvin (Jr.) Johnson, Jr.
