

Funeral services for Mabel Bennett Hobson are set for 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Trey Lambert officiating with the eulogy by Carolyn Lovett. Burial will be in the Forrest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Hobson died on Sunday, March 16th at the North Mississippi Medical Center – Baldwyn Nursing Facility in Baldwyn, MS. She was born in Alcorn County on January 1, 1920 to the late Grady and Maude Reynolds Bennett. She attended grammar schools at Gift and Bell and Alcorn Agriculture High School in Kossuth. After graduating from AAHS, she went on to Mrs. Draughn Business School in Corinth and Memphis, TN. After working at Weavers Pants Factory for a short time, she married Noel Hobson and they moved to Memphis where she worked as a secretary for a paper company. Upon leaving the paper company, she was given a job with the Civil Service Commission working for the Internal Revenue Service where she remained until she retired. Upon retiring, she and Noel moved back to Corinth.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Noel Hobson; four brothers, Raymond, Cecil, Jimmy, and David Bennett.
Survivors include one brother, Fred Bennett and wife Bonnie of Baldwyn; one sister-in-law, Dot Bennett; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 18th from 6:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. and from noon till service time on Wednesday.
