Matthew Wade Hunting

Matthew was born August 11th, 1956 to Burl and Yula Hunting in St. George, Utah. He was the fifth of nine children. He showed his love for his family by making up nicknames and singing songs. He will be remembered for his playful and caring presence in each of their lives. Matthew lived his life as a faithful servant of the Lord. He served the Lord for two years in the Little Rock, Arkansas Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He continued that dedication to the gospel and missionary work throughout the rest of his life. Matthew married his eternal companion, Carla Leigh, in the Salt Lake City Temple on December 11th, 1987. Without hesitation, he embraced the role of a loving and devoted father. He was the dad he didn’t have to be.

Matthew is survived by his wife, Carla Leigh Hunting; his four children, Alan (Melanie) Hunting, Greg Booton, Kimberlee (Joey) Roberts, and Jenna Hunting. He received great joy from his seven grandchildren; Samantha Hunting, Jayden Hunting, Luke Hunting, Jacob Hunting, Chase Roberts, Jocelyn Hunting, and Grayson Roberts. He is also survived by his mother Yula Hunting and siblings: Clint (Bobbi) Hunting, Tressa Beckstead, Venna(Jeff)Briggs, Lance(Sherrie) Hunting, Jim Hunting, Dusty Hunting, Naomi Hunting, and Shawnee(Justin) Rollins. Matthew is preceded in death by his father, Burl Hunting.

Funeral Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 231 Mississippi Hwy. 2, Corinth, MS 38834 on Wednesday, February 25th, 2015. Visitation at 11:00 a.m. with funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. Interment burial services will take place in Beryl, Utah on Saturday, February 28th, 2015 at 12 noon. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. In case of inclement weather he service will be held at the Newcastle Ward Building.
