Mrs. Wood died October 29, 2012 at Cornerstone Health and Rehab. She was born May 18, 1921 to late Robert and Leda Butler Purvis. She was a retired telephone operator from Bell South after over 30 years. Member of Northside Church of Christ. She enjoyed animals and reading inspirational book.
Preceded in death by her husband Earl Woods. Parents, sisters Janice Mills and Clara Alice Purvis, brothers Jack and Tommy Purvis, sister-in-law Joan Purvis.
Survived by her brothers Robert Purvis and Jimmy (Marie) Purvis of Corinth, MS. Sister-in-laws Sue and Ramona Purvis of Corinth, MS. brother-in-law H.S. Mills of Memphis, TN. Host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
