Robert "Bob" Hue Landers

Funeral services for Robert "Bob" Landers, 83, will be on Friday, October 15, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charlie Cooper and Bro. Mickey Trammel officiating. Burial will be in the Kemps Chapel cemetery near Rienzi.

Mr. Landers died on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. He was born in Limestone County, AL on Monday, March 9, 1927 to the late Larkie and Ruby Reed Landers. During his life he served in the U.S. Navy and fought in World War II. After returning home, he worked 27 years for Western Electric in Chicago, IL as a supervisor from where he retired. He spent only two weeks in retirement and went back to work for ITW and stayed there for 12 years. After his "official" retirement, he loved spending time with his friends at the cardiac rehab and Jack's, where he was a member of the coffee drinkers club, often sitting at a table of nine that seated six. Many times he would have to stop there before heading to church. He also loved animals and flowers.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Yvonne Moody Landers and two brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Landers; three brothers-in-law, Foster, Thad, and Mack Moody; one sister-in-law, Gretchen Thorton; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Wesley Mark Jacobs, Joby Murphy, Brad Palmer, Chris Jacobs, Nathan Palmer, Timo Murphy, Brandon Palmer, and Matt Murphy will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be on Thursday, October 14th from 5:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. and from 11:00 A.M. till service time on Friday.
