Ruby Earlene Newcomb

Funeral service for Ruby Earlene Newcomb 85 are set for 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Minsters Lennis Nowell and Reed Swindle officiating. Burial in the New Hope Church of Christ Cemetery.

Earlene died October 18, 2015 at Cornerstone Health and Rehab. She was born August 10, 1930 in Alcorn Co to the late Harvey Neapolitan and Helen Wilkins. She was a member of Foote Street Church of Christ, former garment factory worker. She and her late husband had been substitute houseparents for Pinevale Children Home. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting and was a babysitter for many years.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Newcomb; one son, Jerry Newcomb; one daughter, Linda Newcomb; two sisters, Gladys Hutson and Birdie Horner; and two brothers, Eugene Wilkins, Carl Wilkins and wife Avadean.

Survived by her son Jimmy Wilkins and wife Paulette; one daughter, Martha Newcomb; one grandson, Kevin Newcomb and wife Cynthia; a great-grandson, Ty Newcomb; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Wilkins and Clydean Wamsley and a host of other family and friends.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, October 20, from 5:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. and from 1:00 P.M. till service time on Wednesday.

Mark Gilliland, Paul Gilliland, John Newcomb, O’Neal Hutson, James Burcham, Alan Burcham will serve as pallbearers.
