One of our long-time friends died last night. His name was Mitch. Mitch was born on September 5, 1964 in Alcorn County. He passed away on August 29, 2024 as a result of an accident.
We at Crosswind had the privilege of serving him and fussing over him for years. He was a homeless guy and had a lot of issues but he was an image bearer of God and, therefore our dear friend.
We thank the Lord for giving Mitch to us, to love and to serve.
The bench you see outside he often used was a gift from a boy scout who in his eagle project built this bench just for him. We have a hose bib close to it and he would come and shower and get refreshed and relax here.
We pray that the light of the gospel by the grace of God touched his heart in a way that evoked saving faith. Pray for the family.
