LANGLOIS, Bertha (née Labbé) – Peacefully at the Glen Stor Dun Lodge. Beloved wife of the late Victor Langlois. Cherished mother of Normand Langlois (Terry) of Summerstown. Proud grandmother of Kenneth Langlois and Sherry Langlois – Laprade (Jason) all of Cornwall. Great-grandmother of Travis Laprade (Willow), Andrew Laprade (Sabrina), Samantha Bourdages (Michael), Toby Matte and Bart Langlois. Great-great-grandmother of Zane, Aydenn, Caleb and Zailey. She was the beloved daughter of the late Gédéon Labbé and the late Eveline (née Vachon). Predeceased by her ten brothers and sisters: Alphonse (Perpétue), Alfred (Yvette), Olida (Adélard), Cécile (Joe), Robert (Gemma), Roméo (Gisèle), Alice (Aurèle), Paul (Denise), Carmelle and the late Jeanne D’Arc. She will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews.
Bertha was born and raised in Disraëli, Quebec, the sixth of eleven children. Prior to marrying, she was a waitress in Magog, Quebec, where she met her future husband. Bertha was a bonding force in her little family. As a wife, mother, and full-time homemaker, she selflessly and generously gave her love, her time and her true presence to her husband, son and grandchildren. She spent countless hours cooking meals for her family and would not sit down to eat until she knew everyone had everything they wanted and were satisfied. She cooked many French-Canadian meals and desserts. She kept an immaculately clean home for her family. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, going for walks in nature and going for drives to spot wildlife in the country. She had a wonderful sense of humour. She was, in fact, as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. She will be remembered for the love she shared with her family. You could not leave here home without a loving embrace, a kiss and some home cooking to go.
Friends may pay their respects at the M John Funeral Home, 341 Pitt Street, Cornwall, (across from City Hall), Saturday, January 21 from 9:30 am until time of Service in the Funeral Home, Saturday at 11:30am.
