

Alice Angel Benoit-Mitchell-Cryderman (April 25, 1942 – July 1, 2025), a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She departed this world peacefully on Tuesday July 1, 2025, happily surrounded by those who loved her.
Alice leaves behind to mourn her loving companion Harry King; her children: Joanne (Rick) McPhee, Hilton (Tammy) Cryderman, Eric (Kathy) Cryderman, Elaine (Ron) Swerdfeger, Sandra Wert; her brother Cecil (Sue) Benoit and her sister Eileen Howard; her grandchildren: Melinda Alice (Kim) Summers (Mikayla, Logan, Dylan), J.P (Melanie) Brunet (Sophie, Vanessa, Isabelle, Dominic), Tara (Jason) Leblanc (Bella, Selena, Hope, David). Total of 18 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and chosen niece Debbie McDonald.
Welcoming her in heaven are her parents Henry and Mildred (née Branchaud) Benoit; her brother Royal Benoit; her former husbands: Rudolph Mitchell and Arnold Cryderman; her children: Brenda Brunet, Brian Mitchell, Wayne Cryderman, Gary Cryderman and her granddaughter Jessica Brunet.
Alice touched the life of everyone who crossed her path with warmth, generosity, and unwavering kindness. She was a woman of immense grace, strength and boundless love. She is leaving behind a legacy of compassion and a life well lived, whether through her warm smile, her comforting words or her unconditional support. Alice made everyone feel valued and loved. She will be dearly missed by many.
There is a saying that it takes a village to raise a child, well Alice was the TEACHER OF OUR VILLAGE, and her legacy will live on in everyone that knows her.
We would love to give our heartfelt thank you to the AMAZING staff at TSI for the compassionate care and love they gave to her, she was treated not only as a resident but as one of their own family members.
Resting at LAHAIE AND SULLIVAN WEST BRANCH 20 SEVENTH STREET WEST on Monday July 7, 2025, between the hours of 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 7:00PM to 9:00PM. As well as one Tuesday July 8, 2025, between the hours of 9:00AM to 10:30AM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday July 8th, 2025, at 11:00AM at St. Peter’s Parish Catholic Church 2900 Second Street E, Cornwall, ON.
Interment to take place at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Tsiionkwanonhs:te Long Term Care Facility or to Carefor Hospice Cornwall.
