

Alice Ferguson, 64, passed away peacefully at the Ottawa Heart Institute on Thursday, October 29, 2015 surrounded by family and friends after battling a severe lung infection while recovering from a heart attack. Alice had previously underwent a successful double lung transplant in May 2014 and was happy to have her beautiful new lungs.
Born in Montreal, QC, on July 10, 1951 to Rhoda (Mugford) and Leo Gerald Ferguson, Alice grew up in Verdun and moved to Cornwall in 1995. She was an esteemed business woman, owning two successful companies: Alishan Transportation and Nahsila Freight Forwarding and volunteering with many organizations. Alice was an active member of the community and mentor to many.
Loving mother of Shannon Ferguson, Alice is also survived by siblings Linda (David), Gerry, Rhoda (Peter), and Jeffrey (Joanne). Caring aunt to Kevin (Amanda), Lynn-Marie (Patrick), Barry (Natalie), Christina, Sierra, and Shelby. Alice also leaves behind life-long best friend Beverley Hoyle and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. Predeceased by her parents, brother Johnny, and husband Victor Thompson.
Funeral service to be held Friday, November 6, 2015 at 2:00pm at Trinity Anglican Church, 105 Second St. W., Cornwall, Ontario. Reception to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion, 415 Second St. W. Burial to take place at a later date.
