Gerald "Gerry" Godard

Cherished and adored husband of the late Christina (née MacGillivray) Godard for over 56 years.

Loving and devoted father of Kevin (Pina) Godard and Michael (Christianne) Godard. Proud grandpa, paca, of Julianne, Xavier, Zachary and Kaitlyn.

Dear brother of Laurent “Larry” Godard (Diane). He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Predeceased by his parents Remi Godard, Lena (née St. Denis) Godard, his siblings Cecile Leger (the late Gerry), Marcel Godard (the late Louise), Jacqueline Brunet, Claudette Godard-Dennis and Francine Martin (the late John).

Gerry had a deep love for his profession with Cornwall Transit where he rose to the position of Operations Manager. He especially cherished the daily connection with people, something that brought him great joy as he continued driving school bus in his retirement. Gerry was also a dedicated member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. Prior to his career with Cornwall Transit, Gerry served his country for eleven years as a member of the Royal Canadian Regiment of the Canadian Armed Forces.

Resting at Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes, West Branch, 20 Seventh Street West (613-932-8482) on Tuesday July 22, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Funeral Service will be held in the Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home on Wednesday July 23, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.

As expressions of sympathy memorial donations to the Parkinson Foundation or the Alzheimer Society, would be greatly appreciated by the family.
