My sincere condolences to the family. Although I only knew Gunter in his old age, I have fond memories of captivating conversation with him. He remained sharp during our visits while I was a pastor at Fellowship Baptist. He loved to talk about his personal story and adventures, his family and how much they meant to him, and the Scriptures. Grateful that I had the chance to spend time with him. Praying for the comfort of the family. Rejoicing that Gunter is finally home.

Gunter and Gisele were very special to our family when we moved to Cornwall and lived there for 23 years. We especially remember special meals around their dinner table, feasting on Gunter's homemade soup and other German treats. They were both so kind, generous and a true testimony of Christ's love. We send our condolences to the entire family and pray that each one will experience God's comforting love.

Dear Uncle Günter,
I keep such good memories of each time we visited you, Gisèle, Frances, Esther, Peter & Paul. You received us with such kindness and warmth. It was always happy times :-) Also, you would have us visit different places and doing different activities every time. It was always fun! 
Your generosity extends in such a way that you & Gisèle never missed a birthday, a wedding anniversary or a Christmas to send each one of us, every year, a beautiful card to express your best wishes for us. Uncle Günter, you have such a big beautiful heart!

I enjoyed Gunter’s company at the Navy Can gym, for a few years. He always impressed me with his common sense approach to life’s problems, and with his unshakable faith.  He told me once “ Every morning when I wake up, I ask God, what do You wish me to do for You today?”
Like me, he was a keen bicyclist and we often discussed local bike paths. Then, we would cover local and national politics.
My sympathies to the family, and I can assure you when he spoke of family it was with great pride and affection.

We have very fond memories of Mr. Schmeer. What friendly, kind and generous individuals they both were. It was truly a blessing to have them as longtime neighbors.

A picture taken a few weeks ago, on an evening stroll with my father.  We both could see  in the skies a  glimmer heavenly hope!  He is now truly experiencing the heavens!  To Be Absent from the Body Is to Be Present with the Lord – 2 Cor. 5:8

I’m deeply grateful for all the memories we shared — from Opas strong signature handshake to playing chess and solving mind riddles, to spending time on the water, whether fishing or boating. Sending my prayers and love to all family.
