

ROWE, Irene Grace (Clavette), January 6, 1943 – August 24, 2013. Peacefully after one years’ courageous battle with leukemia, Irene passed away at Hospice Cornwall surrounded by her family on Saturday August 24, 2013. She was 70. Sadly missed by her loving husband and best friend of 31 years, Melvin Rowe. Loving mom to Maureen (Robin) Deschamps and Shannon (Troy) McMahon. Cherished grandmother to Emily and Sarahlynn Deschamps and Lisa and Erin Legue, Megan and Thomas McMahon. Stepmother to Richard (Maida), Tim (Sharon), Steven (Marianne), Kerry Rowe and Debbie (Blair) Henderson. Fondly missed by 11 step-grandchildren and 3 step great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents Albert and Catherine (McQuaig) Clavette, her sister Madeline Dafoe and Irene’s former husband Sheldon Rowe. Irene will be deeply missed by her surviving siblings, Annie, Wilfred (Barbara), Edwin (Shirley) and Alice (Albert). Survived by many nieces, nephews, sister and brothers-in-law, cousins, great neighbours, and close friends. Irene retired after 31 years at The Bank of Nova Scotia as well another 10 years as a court officer with the Cornwall Courthouse. Resting at M. John Sullivan Funeral Home, 341 Pitt Street (across from city hall) on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm and on Wednesday from 9:30-10:45 am. Funeral Service on Wednesday August 28, 2013 at 11 am in the chapel of the Funeral Home, followed by cremation.
