Larry Poirier

August 29, 1948 – July 25, 2024

Poirier, Larry - With deep sadness the family announces that Larry Poirier passed away peacefully at the Glen Stor Dun Lodge, on Thursday, July 25, 2024. Predeceased by his loving parents Nicephore and Bertha Poirier.

He will be dearly missed by his siblings: Rose (Brian), Marge, Patrick (Jennifer), Donna (Richard), Roger, Michael, and Linda. Predeceased by Vincent, Sylvia, and Juliette.

He was a loving father and will be greatly missed by Louisa, Kevin, Kristi, Kathi, and Matthew (Celianie). Predeceased by Kenneth.

His grandchildren: Emily, Jonathan, Ewan, Olivia, Noah, Zackery, Gabriannah, Jasmine, and Zyannah are greatly saddened by his passing. He was a proud and loving grandpa who adored going to as many sporting and school events of his grandchildren that he could. He loved being a grandpa.

This year he became a very happy great grandpa to Violet.

He will be remembered for being a caring son, brother, dad, grandpa, friend, colleague, neighbour, teacher, vice principal, and principal. He left his mark on many people over the years; as someone who was always there to help.

He didn’t make it to the age of 103 that he had hoped for but he did beat the average life expectancy of The Poirier Family. This was a feat he was extremely proud of in recent years.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to the Glen Stor Dun Lodge for the caring support in the last eight months of Larry’s life. He was a character that they all loved to talk to, engage in activities, and play cribbage against. He is sadly missed by the staff.

Arrangements are entrusted to Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes, West Branch, 20 Seventh Street West (613-9332-8482). A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
