AITKEN, Lillian Catherine (Sproul) – Passed away peacefully at the Glen Stor Dun Lodge on Tuesday March 21, 2017. She was 91. Beloved wife of the late John Aitken. Loving mother of Darlene (John McMartin) and Phyllis (Brian Fourney). Loving grandmother of Emily MacLeod (Bill), Andrew Fourney, Krista McMartin and Jason McMartin (Nancie). Beloved Great Nan to Alex Markovic (McMartin), Thomas (Tommy) McMartin and Gavin MacLeod. Survived by one sister Dorothy Cook (late John). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Robert and Charlotte (Grant) Sproul, 4 brothers, Leonard Sproul (Inez), Chester Sproul (late Grace), Myles Sproul (late Theresa), Irvin Sproul, and 2 sisters Hilda Cummings (late Fred) and Laura McBain (late Duncan). Friends will be received at the M. John Sullivan Funeral Home, 341 Pitt Street (across from city hall) Cornwall on Friday from 9:30-10:45am followed by Funeral Service at 11 am in the Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ian K. Johnston, St. John’s Presbyterian Church Cornwall officiating. Private spring burial in Maxville Cemetery. Memorial donations in Lillian’s memory can be made to the Alzheimers Society of Cornwall or the Glen Stor Dun Lodge.

Our family is deeply grateful to all of Lillian‘s incredible and compassionate care team; Dr. S. Patel and the staff at Glen Stor Dun Lodge. They truly helped in making Mom’s final years comfortable and happy.
