Beloved wife of Manuel Goulart Matos. Devoted mother of Nelson Matos (Michelle). Adoring grandmother of Micheal and Noah Matos. Also remembered by many friends and family.
She is predeceased by her parents Franciso Sebasião Garcia and Maria de Lurdes Garcia.
Maria was born in Madalena, Pico Azores, where she was a seamstress. She permanently moved to Canada with her family in 1987. Maria always had a welcoming smile and made everyone feel special. Her nurturing nature always put family first. She enjoyed attending many Portuguese festivals and celebrations.
In keeping with Maria’s wishes cremation has taken place.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Precious Blood Parish (18318 County Road 2, Cornwall, ON) on Saturday September 28, 2024 at 11AM.
In lieu of flowers Memorial Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
