Melvin Alexander "Sunshine" Lafave

LAFAVE, Melvin Alexander “Sunshine”- Born May 25, 1932 and passed away May 13, 2017 at 7:03 am at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. Melvin Alexander “Sunshine” Lafave at the age of 84 years.

Beloved husband of Rachelle Marie (nee Thibeault). Survived by his children Melvina Bristow (Brian), Charlene Vervoort (Michael), Keith (Janice), Nancy Lafave, Matthew (Janet) and Jules (Cathy). Dear papa to Robin, Christine, Patty, Lance, Chelsea, Kricket, Kerri, Kyle Matthew, Jessica, Mark, Robert, Alexander, Elizabeth and Melodie. Great-grandfather to sixteen with one on the way. Dear brother of Kay Pilon, Raymond Lafave, Sheila McMartin, Ken Lefave and Eunice McLean. He will be lovingly remembered by his chosen family Donalda Tabone and the late Samuel Cain and Isabel and Irwin Cain.

Predeceased by his parents Elizabeth “Libby” (nee Taillon) and Clarence Lefave, by his daughter Helen Lafave, by one great-grandchild, by his siblings Leonard Lefave, Elsie Dupuis, Iola Watters, Avery Lefave, Garnet Lefebvre and Shirley Lemieux.

The family will be in attendance at LAHAIE AND SULLIVAN, CORNWALL FUNERAL HOME, WEST BRANCH, 20 Seventh Street West, (613-932-2841) on Thursday, May 25 from 11 am until time of Service in the Memoial Chapel of the Funeral Home at 1 pm.

As expressions of sympathy memorial donations to The University of Ottawa Heart Institute will be appreciated by the family.
