Nancy Julia (Filion) Harris

Devoted and loving wife for over 61 years to Keith Harris of Lunenburg, ON. Cherished mother of Keitha Harris-Donovan (Gerald) of Ashton, ON and Sheldon Harris of Franktown, ON.

Predeceased by her parents Ernest and Julia (née Laundrie) Filion and by her brothers Philip (Sharon) Filion and Ernest 'Ernie' (Carolyn) Filion.

Survived by her sisters Elaine Smith and Lorraine Williams (Bill).

Treasured grandmother of Mark (Alexandra) Donovan, Ryan (Erin) Donovan, Andrea (Chris) Lalonde, Kaylea (Chris) MacDonald and proud great-grandmother of Charlotte, Colton, Addison, Cameron, Brooks, Sully, Tessa and one on the way.

Predeceased by her brother and sisters-in-laws Lloyd (Aileen) Harris, Evelyn (Ted) Robinson, Gladys (Andrew)(Jim) Kinghorn, Harold (Connie) Harris and Donald Harris.

Nancy will be fondly remembered by her surviving sister-in-law Darlene (late Glenn) McMillan.

She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews, along with extended famaily and friends. A special thank you to her godson Don for bringing his mom for many hospital visits during her final weeks.

Nancy was a graduate of the Cornwall General Hospital Training School for Nurses obtaining her certificate of registration as a Registered Nurse in 1959. Over the next 30 plus years she worked for the hospital in the ER, Operating room and Recovery room.

She was a member of the hospital’s Alumni, as well as a Past President/Member of the Navy League of Canada Women’s Auxiliary and a long time 4-H leader in the Stormont 4-H Association.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place.

Arrangements entrusted to the care and direction of Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes, 20 Seventh Street West, Cornwall (613-932-8482).

A graveside service will be held at St. Lawrence Valley Cemetery on Friday, June 23rd at 11:00 a.m. with Father Thomas Riopelle officiating.

Friends and family are invited to then attend a celebration of life at the family farm from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. located at 15801 North Lunenburg Road East.
